If You Can’t Stand the Heat
Truman said the rest, but here is the secret: you can stand this heat. Hot honey took over restaurant menus because sweet and spice make each other louder, and this candy borrows the idea at a friendlier volume. It is built on habanero, a pepper with more going on than fire. Habanero is fruity before anything else, almost tropical, which is why it belongs next to honey instead of fighting it.
We put the pepper in twice. All natural habanero extract carries the fruit-forward flavor, and habanero powder adds a soft, warming spice behind it. Each drop starts with honey, the fruit shows itself, and the spice hums through the finish. Warm, not hot: this is habanero for people who like flavor more than pain.
Each hexagon-window box holds 3.5 ounces of drops made without corn syrup and without gluten. The box is sustainably made paper you can recycle or compost, and the inner bag is recyclable food-grade plastic.
What Makes Our Spicy Honey Candy Special?
- Habanero two ways: All natural habanero extract for the pepper’s fruity character, habanero powder for a true, gentle warmth. Real pepper, mild manners.
- Sweet first, then the spice: The flavor arrives in order. Honey opens soft, the fruit shows itself, and a mellow warmth rounds out the finish.
- The hot honey idea, portable: The sweet-heat pairing that took over pizza and fried chicken, in a drop that rides in a coat pocket.
- Gluten-free and corn-syrup-free: Made without gluten or corn syrup. Produced in a facility that handles peanuts and tree nuts.
- Thoughtful packaging: A sustainably made paper box with a honeycomb window, recyclable or home-compostable when clean and dry.
Add a little warmth to the candy dish.
How to use: Enjoy them right out of the box. Serve two drops on a small dish beside a smoked old fashioned; the sweet heat picks up where the smoke leaves off. End Taco Tuesday with a dish of hot honey drops; dessert that keeps the theme. Serve with your cheese charcuterie board. Store in a cool, dry place away from sun and humidity.

Spicy Honey Candy FAQs
How hot is Spicy Honey Candy?
Warm, not punishing. It’s built on habanero, but honey opens the drop, the pepper’s fruity side shows next, and the spice hums through the finish instead of hitting all at once. It’s the flavor people tend to reach for twice. If you like hot honey on pizza or fried chicken, this sits at a friendlier volume.
What pepper is in Spicy Honey Candy?
Habanero, two ways: all natural habanero extract for the pepper’s fruity flavor, and habanero powder for a gentle warmth behind it. Habanero is fruity before it’s hot, almost tropical, which is why it sits so well next to honey. The rest of the recipe is non-GMO sugar, honey, water, and non-GMO coconut oil.
Is Spicy Honey Candy the same as hot honey?
It borrows the idea. Hot honey is a pepper-spiked honey you drizzle on pizza and fried chicken. Spicy Honey Candy is a hard honey candy made with habanero, so you get the same sweet-and-heat pairing in a drop that rides in a coat pocket. Try a dish of them after taco night or next to a cheese board.
Are these honey candies kosher?
No. Our honey candy is not kosher certified, so please don’t rely on it for a kosher table or a kosher gift. If certification matters to you or to the person you’re shopping for, look to our jarred honeys instead: every honey we jar by hand in Owings Mills is Star-K kosher certified, from Wildflower to our Royale honeys.
Are your honey candies free of dairy, nuts, and soy?
Yes. There’s no dairy, nuts, or soy in any flavor, including Chocolate, which gets its flavor from cocoa rather than milk chocolate. Every flavor does contain non-GMO coconut oil, which some people with nut allergies ask about. The candy is made in a facility that also handles peanuts and tree nuts, so keep that in mind if nuts are a concern in your house.
Are your honey candies gluten-free and corn syrup free?
Yes to both. Every flavor is made without gluten and without corn syrup. Each recipe starts with the same four ingredients: non-GMO sugar, honey, water, and non-GMO coconut oil. From there, each flavor adds one or two of its own, like cocoa, ginger oil, vanilla extract, or freeze dried blueberries, and nothing else.
Where is your honey candy made?
Our honey candy is made in the USA with local honey. The recipes are short on purpose: every drop starts from honey and non-GMO sugar, and none of the flavors use corn syrup or added coloring, which is why the whole line comes out close to the same warm amber color.
How much candy is in a box?
Each box holds 3.5 ounces (99 grams) of honey drops, about six servings of 15 drops each. The box is about 3 by 5 inches, roughly the size of a tarot deck, with a honeycomb window so you can see the drops. It’s sustainably made paper you can recycle or home compost when clean and dry, and the inner bag is recyclable.
Do honey candies stick together in humid weather?
Yes, they can. Hard honey candy pulls moisture out of the air, and on a muggy day loose drops will start to cling to each other and turn tacky on the outside. Keep them sealed in their bag and away from heat, like a sunny windowsill or a hot car, and they’ll stay hard and separate.
How long does honey candy keep?
Honey candy is best within a year of the purchase date. Once you open a box, plan to finish it within three months. In between, keep it away from heat and humidity, which are what change hard candy most. If you’re buying ahead for the holidays or for gifts, a year gives you plenty of room.
Are your honey candies vegan?
Technically, no. Honey is made by bees, and many people who follow a vegan diet leave it out for that reason. Every flavor in our candy line starts with honey, so none of them fit a strict vegan diet. If you’re shopping for someone who eats vegan, it’s worth asking whether they include honey before you buy.
